Aubergine Sunset
For those with low squeamishisity, click here for a view of the bruise on my hip where I landed. I've been trying to think up names for the colorway represented. Aubergine Sunset? Hip/Sidewalk Interplay? Contusion Confusion? Coordination Fanfare? Bedrest Surprise? Plum Sunshine?

Y finished her first socks, and they are SO cozy! I did the cast-on and the toes and turned the heels and did the gusset decreases, but she did everything else. They're made from Rowan All Seasons Cotton on US6 bamboo dpns. Aren't they awsome? She's a knitting maniac.

And now she's graduated to real sock yarn and US1 metal dpns for her second pair, which will be anklets. I love the green stripe in the middle of the minty-colored self-striping yarn.

And here is my new love, Pippa. This pattern is so simple, yet so incredibly elegant. Just the slightest twist on the completely straightforward to make it intersting and lovely. And I love working with this silky, gorgeous yarn.

I'm a little nervous that I might be off gauge again, but I'm trying not to stress about it.

That is one fantastic bruise.
Aubergine Sunset sounds nice, but the colors are cooler than the name suggests (even though sunsets get that dark, people don't think of them that way).
I like Contusion Confusion, because there's a beautiful puzzle named Fusion Confusion (see it at http://www.johnrausch.com/puzzleworld/puz/fusion_confusion.htm).

Wow,
That image almost looks like a window into your leg.
